Updating Maple Kitchen Cabinets Right On The Boise River
We recently assisted another Eagle, ID homeowner with their kitchen remodel, updating their 90’s era Maple cabinets. This beautiful home was right on the Boise River Greenbelt and the open floor plan along with lots of big windows means this amazing cabinet transformation will impress all the joggers and bikers passing by, not just the family using it. Follow along as we walk you through our kitchen cabinet makeover process.
Here’s what this kitchen initially looked like. The lightly stained Maple cabinets were originally installed over 20 years ago and haven’t been touched since. We will be doing a full cabinet painting service on these cabinets, updating them with a clean white finish and a fun accent color for the kitchen island.
Removal & Preparation
This kitchen has an island at the center and some great window cabinets that require some extra prep and refinishing on the interior of the cabinet boxes. Not to mention the custom wood panels on the Sub-Zero refrigerator.
Preparing The Kitchen
Our professional cabinet refinishers know the secret to a fantastic result is all in the prep work. Our Boise cabinet painters take their time making sure everything is correctly taped off, ventilated, and that non-painted surfaces are protected. Luckily a cabinet painting job only takes a few days, so there will be minimal interruption to the home. Now the real kitchen makeover work can start!
Painting Cabinet Doors
With the doors removed and back at the shop, our team spends several days preparing, sanding, caulking and refinishing the doors with the client’s color of choice.
Cabinet Boxes
While our crew at the shop was working on the doors and drawer fronts, Dylan was back at the house sanding and spraying the cabinet boxes with a clean white and darker accent color. All that’s left now is to reinstall everything, including the glass doors.
