Kitchen Cabinet Refacing

The N-Hance® approach to cabinet refacing, also known as cabinet door replacement, is a process that gives you new cabinet doors and drawer fronts while keeping the cabinet boxes in place. Once you choose your new door style and color, we’ll paint or stain your cabinet boxes to match – flawlessly.

We also offer a range of upgrades to further personalize your cabinets and your kitchen. This includes everything from crown molding and glass panel inserts to cabinet storage solutions and open shelving. Best of all? We can transform your cabinets and your whole kitchen at a fraction of the cost of a full cabinet remodel.

Why Reface Your Cabinets with N-Hance?

With a complete renovation, a contractor will come in to remove and dispose of your old cabinets, replacing them with new ones. Oftentimes, though, existing cabinets get replaced with ones made from inferior, lower quality products. If, however, your cabinets are made from hardwood, they likely still have years of life left in them. They simply need a cabinet makeover.

That’s where our cabinet refacing service comes in. When your cabinets are old, worn-out, dated, or chipped, you might think it’s time for a total renovation. The reality is you can get better results with cabinet refacing from N-Hance.

Also known as a cabinet door replacement, our cabinet refacing process gives you a wide range of door styles, hardwood materials, colors options, finishing techniques, and additional options to choose from. Your cabinet boxes will stay in place and will be painted or stained to match, providing a cohesive look. Plus, since there’s no demolition, there’s less mess and downtime.

The result? You’ll get cabinets that look like-new at a fraction of the cost of a full cabinet remodel. There will also be less disruption to your life since we can often complete cabinet refacing projects in around three to five days.

How Our Cabinet Refacing Process Works

From start to finish, the N-Hance cabinet refacing team will guide you through each step, so you get cabinets that are perfectly suited to your style and design preferences. Our process includes:

Choosing Your Cabinet Color

During the cabinet refacing process, you can select from our N-Hance Color Palette for both paints and stains. Our paint options range from Pure White to Bear Lake Blue to Top Hat Black. Stain options range from Raw Sienna to Burnt Umber to Black. If one of these colors doesn’t appeal to you, you can provide a color sample for us to match.

If you’re not sure which color or stain to choose, we’ll walk you through your options, allowing you to see the color choices in your home. We can further personalize your final color selection with a finishing technique such as glazing, antiquing, torching, or other accenting, as well as with various sheens like matte, satin, and gloss.

Exploring Various Wood Types for Cabinet Refacing

The wood you choose can have a big impact on the final look of your kitchen cabinets. Wood comes in numerous shades, grains, and densities, which means colors and stains appear differently depending on the type you choose.

Some can provide a richer, more dramatic effect, while others are better for painting versus staining. Our cabinet refacing team will assist you in considering your options, so you choose the wood that’s right for your project and vision.

Cabinet Refacing, at a Cost You Can Afford

Traditional cabinet renovations often cost tens of thousands of dollars. If you’d like to avoid this significant investment, but still want cabinets that feel like new, N-Hance can help.

Our approach is far more affordable costing  just a fraction of the cost replacing your cabinets completely. However, pricing does vary depending on the size of your project, the number of cabinets that need to be refaced and your final design choices. Our team is happy to walk you through your options and provide you with an estimate.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cabinet Refacing

What Are the Benefits of Cabinet Refacing?

The most obvious benefit of cabinet refacing is that it gives your cabinets and your kitchen a whole new look and feel without the huge expense of a full replacement. Since our approach is budget-friendly, you might even be able to afford other changes, such as a new backsplash, flooring, or countertops. In addition, our approach is faster, less disruptive, and more sustainable, without old cabinets ending up in a landfill.

What Steps Are in the Cabinet Refacing Process?

With N-Hance, you’re not only getting an approach that’s easier and more affordable, but one that’s completely innovative too. Our proprietary, specialized cabinet refacing process includes:

  • Consultation: We will work with you to learn about your needs and your preferences, and also educate you on your options. From start to finish, we’ll help you make decisions, large and small, that will lead to a beautiful end result.
  • Preparation: Our cabinet refacing team will mask and drape your project site first to ensure your home is kept safe and protected from stains, paint, or damage. You don’t need to sweep or do anything other than clear the countertops, empty the cabinets and drawers, and lead the way to your kitchen.
  • Cleaning & Patching: Current doors and drawer fronts are removed. We then use a proprietary cleaning solution to ensure there aren’t any contaminants, like grease or wax, on the cabinet boxes that could prevent the color or stain from adhering. If there are any dents or scratches on the cabinet boxes, we will repair and fill them in as well.
  • Priming: Before applying a new paint color to your cabinets, they will be primed with primer specially designed for cabinets. The application of primer during cabinet refacing will help to ensure the final paint color you have chosen properly adheres to cabinets. It also prevents bleed-through and creates a superior, even look.
  • Color Application: We will apply the paint or stain color you have chosen using a color match system where we match your approved sample to the work being completed. Cabinet doors and drawer fronts are typically completed at our off-site workroom. We’ll use the same technique at your home to update the cabinet boxes.
  • Protective Finish: We then apply our clear, protective coat called Lightspeed® Nano to seal and cure cabinet doors, drawer fronts, and boxes in seconds.
  • Installation: Once the color application stage is complete, your new doors and drawer fronts will arrive at your home painted, finished, and ready to be installed. We can then install the cabinet pulls or handles of your choice.
  • Inspection: Once the process is complete, you can inspect your new cabinets with one of our cabinet refacing technicians to ensure you’re completely satisfied.

Is Cabinet Door Replacement Environmentally Friendly?

With cabinet refacing, you’re making the best choice not only for your home and budget, but for the planet too. Since we repurpose the bulk of the existing cabinets, we’re using less wood, saving trees, cutting down on the use of fossil fuels, and reducing greenhouse emissions.

We’re also the better choice since there’s less dust and fewer Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) thanks to our high-performance, water-based polyurethane finishes.

How Long Will My Refaced Cabinets Last?

N-Hance offers the same longevity and durability as high-quality, factory-finished cabinets. Part of that is thanks to our revolutionary Lightspeed® Nano system. This instantly cures your cabinets using a powerful ultraviolet light, providing a rock-hard finish. At home, proper maintenance is also key to keeping cabinets looking beautiful.

Will Cabinet Refacing Increase My Home Value?

Investing in your kitchen is one of the best steps you can take to boost the value of your home. In fact, you can increase your home value by anywhere from 3% to 7% with kitchen renovations, according to Consumer Reports.

With N-Hance, your budget can also go much further since we’re refacing cabinets – not ripping them out and replacing them. That means you can spend money elsewhere in your kitchen, enhancing value and appeal even more.

How Much Does Cabinet Refacing Cost?

Pricing varies depending on the size of your project, the number of cabinets that need to be refaced, and your final design choices. Our cabinet refacing team is happy to walk you through your options and provide you with an estimate and timeline.
